I've never been a soccer fan.  Soccer moms didn't exist when I was growing up.  The sport was just taking hold in the U.S. as I graduated high school.  So when a friend of mine invited me to a Sporting Kansas City game against the Toronto FC, I was a little worried that I wouldn't enjoy it.

The only thing I know about the game is that the goalie is the only person allowed to use his hands.  Other than that, I would be lost.  But a quick tutorial of what I was looking at on the field and the feel of the crowd quickly got me into the game.

It was 90 minutes of non-stop action, and Sporting KC won the match 2-1.  Livestrong Sporting Park is a great venue and was packed with fans.  The music on the PA was a bit on the loud side, although the fans were louder.

It was a fun experience and one that I wouldn't mind repeating.  If you are looking for something different to do, I'd recommend giving it a try.
