Most of us at one point have heard of different ideas for kids who are graduating high school.  They want to celebrate, and they need a place and time to do it.  Well, not always do the young make great decisions at the spur of the moment.  So we all want to keep them safe and healthy.  That's where this Project Graduation comes in.

The Smithton Project Graduation is working early to get their party ready for their kids.  They're going to do a monthly run/walk to raise money for this party, to offer the kids a safe, drug and alcohol free place to celebrate their achievements.  The first 5k run and walk they had was a huge success with about 70 participants.  So, this one coming up needs to be an even bigger turnout.

Here's Cynthia McMullen to tell me all about the details!

The event will be this Saturday, Aug. 10 at the Smithton City Park. They'll start registering at about 7:00 a.m. The cost for kids under 12 is $5, and adults are a cost of $10. If you need more information about it, or if you want to be a donor or sponsor, call Cynthia at 660-553-0690.

Runningly yours,
Behka
