Smith-Cotton High senior forward Carlos Aguirre was named the District 11 2016 Offensive Player of the Year by district soccer coaches.

Aguirre led the Tigers with 19 goals and nine assists on the season. S-C Head Coach Ethan Weller said: “Carlos has been one of the most well-rounded kids that we have had ever since I can remember. His technical ability allows him to take people on one-on-one in a way that not many kids cannot. He could play just about every position on the field, but with his individual abilities, our team was best when he was up front taking on the other teams back line.”

Also selected to the All-District First Team were senior defender Blake Grupe, senior midfielder Trey Goodson and junior forward Alex Esquivel.

Second team selections for S-C were senior forward Jordan Lawson, junior defender Zach Morrison and sophomore midfielders Riley Moore and Eduardo Alonso.
S-C finished its season with a record of 17-5-1.
