A 17-year-old male was arrested by a School Resource Officer at Smith-Cotton High School, 2010 Tiger Pride Blvd., on Wednesday afternoon.

The suspect, identified as Jacob B. Lore, a student at S-C, allegedly told several other students that he was going to burn down the school. Investigation by Sedalia School District 200 and the SRO determined that Lore was not an immediate threat to the school.

He was taken into custody by the SRO at the student's home and later booked into the Pettis County Jail on a charge of 3rd Degree Making a Terrorist Threat, according to the Pettis County Sheriff's Office.

The case has been submitted to the Pettis County Prosecutor's Office.
