Okay, the snow in May was enough. I've never hunted turkeys in snow like that. What fun it was, 33 degree cold, wet, windy and on the last week of turkey season. One good thing about the weather is that it seems to be getting better and starting to get back to normal. Of course, this is Missouri, so you will have to "Show-Me."
The Mid-Missouri Outlaws will finish up their grueling three games versus the top three teams in the CPIFL this week. The Outlaws lost to the Wichita Wild 82-9 on Saturday, April 27, then lost to the Omaha Beef on the road on Sunday, May 5, 68-13. This week, the Outlaws travel to take on the Sioux City Bandits on Saturday at 7:05 p.m. The Bandits are currently tied for 3rd in the league with the Salina Bombers at 5-2.
May 8 is a significant day, although it may not be featured on every single calendar. It is the anniversary of Victory in Europe Day, or V-E Day. This is the anniversary of the end of hostilities during World War II in Europe, which ceased in 1945. The Sedalia VFW recognized and thanked World War II veterans for their service today (May 8).
The Mid-Missouri Outlaws traveled to take on the Omaha Beef on Sunday afternoon (May 5) and lost 68-13. The Omaha Beef charged out to a 15 point lead before quarterback Damien Dunning was able to find Marcus James open for a 10-yard reception for a touchdown. The Beef proved why they are the co-leaders in the CPIFL by holding the Outlaws scoreless until 11:59 was left in the 4th quarter and scored 40 more points of their own during that time.
The St. Louis Cardinals and Kansas City Royals are doing well in the beginning of their season, but another team in the area is just starting their season.
