When I signed my name on the dotted line for the United State Air Force, it confirmed that for the next six years, Uncle Sam owned me. The 7th annual Polar Plunge on Feb. 8 in Columbia was an enormous success, raising $74,000 to-date. A total of 376 brave men and women from around the area donned costumes and swimwear to take a dip into Stephens Lake. Ryan Boyer has been named the new head football coach at Smith-Cotton High School. Boyer has been on the coaching staff at Smith-Cotton for the last five years. He served as the offensive coordinator and quarterback coach in the 2012 and 2013 seasons.
