This one is for the guys. Although I have seen a few women in my time that probably could have used a clean, close shave.

One of my friends and former employees at Townsquare Media, Brett Martin, decided to change careers and follow the path of his Grandfather and Uncle and become a barber. He is currently going through the Cosmetology program at the Academy of Salon Professionals in Sedalia. He has recently been asking male relatives, friends and acquaintances if they would like a free shave. He has to hone his shaving technique by having people occupy his chair so I volunteered my face for the event. Needless to say I forgot how relaxing it was to have a shave performed by someone else other than the groggy-eyed individual looking back at me in the mirror each morning.

Leaning back in a chair with music softly floating through the air, hot towels placed so eloquently on your face and warm shaving cream lathered across the stubble of a two-day growth. I now see why women love to get facials. He did a fantastic job as he slowly manipulated the straight-edge razor across my face, making the whiskers disappear one-by-one.

Guys, if you've never had a shave at a barber shop, or it's been a while, take some time and indulge into some "me time" and enjoy the venture.
