The State Fair Community College will have their annual Candy Buy Back coming up November 1st.

Halloween is about candy and getting scared.  We all know it, and we accept it.  But, you don't want to go overboard with the sweet stuff.  So why not take an opportunity to get the kids a little scratch - while saving you a little money in future dentist's bills?

The Dental Hygiene department at the college will take unopened candy and you'll get a $1 per pound, and a goody bag!  They will accept the donations from ages 12 and under up to 5lbs at 3201 West 16th from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. the day after Halloween.  They'll take your candy donations and give them to troops serving overseas with Operation Gratitude.

Operation Gratitude annually sends 200,000+ care packages filled with food, entertainment, hygiene, and handmade items, plus personal letters of appreciation to Veterans, First Responders, New Recruits,  Wounded Heroes, their Care Givers, and to individually named U.S. service members deployed overseas and their families waiting at home.

The  mission is to lift the spirits and meet the evolving needs of the Military and First Responder communities, and provide volunteer opportunities for civilians anywhere in America to express their appreciation to all who serve our nation.   If you need more information about the event, call 660-596-7309.  Thanks also to Tiger Family Dental (808 Winchester in Sedalia) for pitching in with a sponsorship to help.

So make sure you get that candy and get down to the Dental Hygiene department!

Sweetly yours,
Behka
