Today was a historic day for the State Fair Community College Athletics Program as Sophomore Guard Kenny Chery officially signed his letter of intent to play at Baylor. In this past season, Chery was the Roadrunners' leading scorer, averaging 16.4 points and five rebounds per game and 105 assists for the season. Cherry also led the team in steals with 48.

In addition those stats, Chery earned All-Region 16 honors for the second time in his SFCC career. He is the first Roadrunner to win back-to back All-Region honors since Marqus Mitchell in 2002 and 2003. Cherry also finished second in the voting for Regional Player of the Year.

"Kenny has been consistent for two years," said Roadrunners Head Coach Kevin Thomas. "He’s gotten better and better. For him to finish second in the Player of the Year voting is a credit to his work ethic."

We'd like to send our best wishes to Chery, good luck at Baylor.  We'll definitely be cheering for him, especially when Baylor plays Kansas.
