Sedalia’s Weekend Events: Weekend of November 21
Here's a look at some of the stuff going on this weekend!
Members of the State Fair Community College Theatre Arts program will present the out-of-this-world children’s musical “Awesome Allie: First Kid Astronaut” .
It'll be held at 2 p.m. Nov. 22 for the public in the Stauffacher Theatre on the Sedalia campus. The show is suitable for young audiences. All tickets are $5 and may be purchased online at www.sfccmo.edu/thearts or emailtickets@sfccmo.edu or call the Box Office at (660) 596-7387 from noon to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday or two hours prior to performance time. Wheelchair seating is available upon request.
The American Red Cross asks eligible donors to make an appointment to give blood to help ensure sufficient blood supplies are available for patients this holiday season.
Blood donations often decline during the holidays when donors get busy with travel and family gatherings, but the need for blood remains steady. Someone in the U.S. needs blood every two seconds. The next blood drive in Sedalia will be on 11/21/2014: 11:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Inter-State Studio, 3500 Snyder Ave. Eligible donors with all types are needed, especially those with O negative, A negative and B negative. To learn more about donating blood and to schedule an appointment, download the Red Cross Blood Donor App, visit redcrossblood.org or call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767).
Artist Dustin Schmidt will have several pieces of art on display at the Liberty Center.
Theme of Dustin’s works, which will be available for sale, will be “Old Hollywood”. There will be 10 or 12 paintings of Hollywood’s former leading men and women. And, since they’re all done in shades of gray (much like what we’d call “black and white photos”), the group requests that everyone who attends the opening reception on November 21st (6-8pm) be dressed in black and white also. There is no charge to attend the reception. For information, email Dustin at dustinmschmidt@hotmail.com.
