Here's a look at the happenings this weekend!

The Knob Noster City Wide Clean up will be available for all who use the Trash Service.

It will take place Saturday, May 11 through Sunday May 19.  The times are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.   Drop off your items at the City Maintenance Barn at 400 West 25.  What they will accept are:  appliances, water heaters, microwaves, freezers, refrigerators, yard debris, tables, chairs, couches, mattresses, metals, shingles and building materials.  What they won’t accept are: tires, batteries, computers, lead based paint, general household trash, and any free flowing liquids.

The Sedalia Lions Club’s annual Blues, Cruise, and BBQ is just weeks away. This year we’re doing so much more. There will be fun for everyone. Everyone knows that someone who proclaims they’re a ‘Master Griller’, now’s your chance make it official. This will be a great event and a super time to mingle with other local business owners, grill, drink cold refreshments, enjoy the outdoors with Music, Smoke, and Friends. If you don’t want to compete and just want to eat and enjoy the night, The Sedalia LIONS will be serving their WORLD FAMOUS (we live in a small world here) BBQ and all the trimmings! Make a day out of it and spend it with the LIONS! Support the youth programs of the Boys & Girls Clubs of West Central Missouri by Racing for Reasons.

The Half Marathon route passes by each program site in Sedalia. Visit bgckids.com to register for the event.  The race starts at Centennial Park in Sedalia at 7:30 a.m. May 18.

We have some really great young dogs completely vetted and ready for a loving home. Their next event will be on May 18 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Sedalia Tractor Supply company. Rubber Duck Race and Festival on May 18, 2013 at Centennial Park (16th and New York, Sedalia) games and live music start at 11am races start at 2:30pm.

All proceeds go to the Amigos de Cristo’s Children’s Programs. To Adopt-a-Duck or for more information call 826-2788. Every duck you adopt gives you a chance to win great prizes and helps a child!!!!  Adopt-a-Duck and help a child!!

The “World’s Largest Garage Sale” is coming to the Missouri State Fairgrounds on May 18.

Whether you’re a crafter, home-based business or just a person with tons of stuff they need to sell, all are welcome to gather at the commercial building at the fairgrounds for this massive sale on May 18 from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm.

The Show-Me Master Gardeners annual plant sale will be on May 18.

It’ll be held at the University of Missouri Extension Center, 1012 Thompson Blvd, next to Ace Hardware in Sedalia. There will be a large assortment of perennials, succulents, shrubs and annuals reasonably priced.

Otterville FBLA Fish Fry will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2013 from 3-9 pm at Otterville Park. 

Fish, potatoes, cole slaw, baked beans, bread, cake and tea or lemonade is just $10. All money goes to Otterville Future Business Leaders of America Chapter National Leadership Conference competitors attending in Anaheim, California in June.

The St Paul’s Lutheran Church is hosting their Monthly Community Baby Shower. 

Do you have a new baby in the family? Let us celebrate with you! Come to St Paul’s Lutheran Church, Sedalia on Sunday, May 19 at 3 pm. We’ll play new baby games, have gifts for you and your baby and then enjoy some light refreshments. We want to celebrate with your family.
