Here's a look at some of the events going on this weekend.

Amigos de Cristo is offering two types of language classes: ESL (English as a Second Language) and Spanish classes. 

The ESL classes will be held twice on Thursdays, one from 10am to 11am and the second from 6pm to 7pm. There is childcare available for the evening ESL class. (Clases de Ingles: Comienzan el jueves 6 de febrero 10-11am & 6-7pm, Calle 11 y Thompson Blvd; Cuidado Niños de Disponible para classes nocturnas. Llamar al 660-826-2788.) The Spanish classes will be held twice per week. The beginner’s Spanish will be on Mondays, 5pm to 6pm, and the advanced class will be on Wednesdays, 6pm to 7pm. The Heart of Missouri Chorus will offering Singing Valentines.

Have you thought about sending a singing valentine for Valentine’s Day? For a cost of $30, a women’s quartet from The Heart of Missouri Chorus will sing a special song in person – in four part a cappella harmony.  They’ll provide the recipient with a red rose and a commemorative photo.  It will be a Valentine’s Day to remember! The Central Missouri Agriculture Club is sponsoring the upcoming Ag Expo.

It’ll be on Friday, February 7 from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, February 8 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Mohler Assembly Hall and the Matthewson Exhibition center on the Missouri State Fairgrounds. Admission is free, bring a canned good to support the Open Door Pantry. Farmers are feeding the masses.

Luehrman, Shaffer and Check will perform a benefit concert for the Regional Health Care Clinic of Johnson County at Players Restaurant.

The concert will begin at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $10 and may be purchased at the door.  The Regional Healthcare Clinic of Johnson County has been providing free medical care to patients without health insurance for nearly ten years.  Installation of dental equipment is currently underway, which will enable the clinic to expand services to include dental care.  Groups wishing to purchase a table of tickets in advance may contact Liz at 660-747-6013.

Helen Russell and Company are bringing a bit of Branson to Sedalia.

They will have a performance on February 8  to bring jokes, country music, bluegrass and rock music.  The dinner will be from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at a cost of $5 a plate.  The dinner will consist of a choice of brisket or pork loin, scalloped potatoes, corn or green beans, salad and a roll.  The show is from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and the cost of the show is $7 a ticket.  Cost of the dinner and the show is $12.  This is a non smoking event.

24th Annual "An Evening of Heart & Hope" Auction presented by WK Chevrolet  will be at the MEC Building on the Missouri State Fairgrounds on Feb. 8.
