One of the big parts of childhood is symbolized in a balloon. I don't wanna get too deep here, but there's got to be a parallel with how light and fragile a balloon is and the tender delicacy of a kid's innocence.
Woah. You can tell I studied English in school, huh. Anyway. You like balloons, and your kids love balloons. And there is definitely a guy that you always associated with balloons in our area. Whether it was a kid’s birthday party, a charitable fundraiser, or a local restaurant, Don Castiglia always had a bag of balloons ready to entertain children.  Don was fighting cancer, and sadly lost his battle just this Sunday.   There will be a Chili and Soup dinner with a pie and cake auction to raise money for his benefit. I got to talk with Terri Hunter of Complete Real Estate Service about the benefit, and how you can give back to a guy who has given so much to us over the last twenty five years.

It’ll be held on Thursday, February 26 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Sedalia Moose Lodge, 119 Winchester Road. They will have pie and cake as well as other items in the Live Auction at 6:00 p.m. Tickets are $5 and all donations are welcome.  Not only are they trying to pay for medical bills, but now there will also be a funeral to pay for - so please, give what you can in the memory of this amazing man.  For more information, donation opportunities, or volunteering: contact Donnie Hunter at 596-5094 or Helen Smith at 281-3969. Tickets will also be sold at Complete Real Estate Service, 1800 West 5th street. Tickets will also be sold at the door. It's a minimum of $5 donation, but I think we can all do better than that! Let's get this going, Sedalia..... the Balloon Man and his family deserve it.

Balloonly yours,
Behka
