A Sedalia woman suffered minor injuries in a two-vehicle accident that occurred in Johnson County Thursday. Alisha M. Anderson. 26, was the driver of a 2014 Kia that was stopped for traffic in the eastbound lane of US 50, two-tenths of a mile east of Route D, when she was struck from behind by a 2011 Kia Forte driven by Bonnie L. Mullins, 43, of Sedalia.

Anderson was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center by private vehicle. Her car had moderate damage, while Mullins' Kia had extensive damage. Both drivers were wearing safety devices, the report said. Knob Noster Police assisted the Missouri Highway Patrol with the investigation.

In another accident, a Las Vegas man suffered minor injuries Thursday around 5:20 p.m. in Pettis County east of Mahin Road when he swerved to avoid a deer in the roadway and lost control of his vehicle. Anthony Jefferson, 25, was eastbound in a 2013 Dodge Journey on Route Y when the incident occurred. He swerved, overcorrected, traveled off the left side of the roadway, struck a culvert and overturned several times. Jefferson was treated at the scene and then transported by private vehicle to Bothwell Regional Health Center for further treatment. The Patrol said he was wearing a safety device at the time of the crash. The Dodge had extensive damage and was towed from the scene by Don's Truck Towing.
