Sedalia Woman Celebrates Her 103rd Birthday
Each day we recognize birthdays on Newstalk 1050 KSIS, 92.3 Bob-FM and Better Country KIX 105. There are many who remember when Willard Scott would recognize those who celebrate their 100th birthday, otherwise known as centenarians. Today (October 28), we get a chance to celebrate and wish Sedalia's own Lena Bargfrede a very happy 103rd birthday at Winchester Meadows. You can swing by and drop off a card or send it to her in the mail at the address below. We hope Lena has a fantastic and Happy Birthday with friends and family!

Not many people can say that they have lived during both World Wars, Prohibition, the Civil Rights Movement and the War on Terror. From the first man on the moon to the discovery of water on Mars, Lena Bargfrede, who will celebrate her 103rd birthday on October 28th, has lived through it all! Born in 1912 in Houstonia, MO, Bargfrede has lived in west-central Missouri her whole life. She has been living at Winchester Meadows Retirement Community since 2010.
Lena shares what a wonderful life she has lived and how fortunate she has been. She says, “In all lives, there are ups and downs.” Throughout her lifetime, Lena’s favorite pastimes are traveling, gardening and spending time with her close knit family. She also enjoys going to church and has been a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Sedalia for 25 years.
She is excited to spend her big day with her large family consisting of five nieces, four nephews, two granddaughters, six great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild! Winchester Meadows invites the public to send her a birthday card! If you would like to spend Lena a card to wish her well, please address it to 3751 W 10th St., Apt. 124., Sedalia, MO 65301.
