Sedalia Teen Injured in Accident in Johnson County

Two Sedalia residents were involved in a one-vehicle crash in Johnson County just after 9 p.m. on Thursday.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 2014 Lexus driven by 62-year-old Stephanie Scheid was westbound on US 50, east of NW 501 Rd, when she attempted to avoid an object in the road, swerved to the right, struck a ditch and then returned to the roadway.

The Patrol's report says that a 13-year-old passenger, Abigail Withers, received minor injuries in the accident and was transported to Children's Mercy Hospital for treatment by the Johnson County Ambulance District.

The vehicle was moderately damaged.
