Sedalia Superintendent Pollitt to Seek Election for State Representative

A large crowd gathered at the Pettis County Courthouse on Friday morning as Sedalia 200 Superintendent Brad Pollitt announced his intention to seek election as representative for MO-52 District.

Pollitt said he has been thinking about running for office for 3 or 4 years. Reflecting on his time as superintendent, he said, "I've seen the community grow and I'm very appreciative of the support." He added, "I look forward to hopefully serving the residents of the 52nd District as their representative in Jefferson City."

On February 7, current representative Nathan Beard said he would not seek re-election. Pollitt thanked Beard and his family for their hard work over the last 4 years, adding that he is excited for the future. Pollitt said, "I hold a lot of the same values as local residents and look forward to continue working together."

Pollitt indicated that he would officially sign-up to run as state representative for MO-52, on February 28. During the announcement he noted, "my main goal right now is to concentrate on the Sedalia School District until the end of my term." Pollitt will retire as Sedalia Superintendent on June 30. He has worked in the district for 24 years, serving as superintendent for the last 5 years. He intends to seek the republican nomination.
