On the evening of January 1st, around 8:38, Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop at Broadway and Marshall Avenue. The officer smelled the odor of marijuana and upon further investigation, found the driver to be in possession of a large quantity of marijuana. Arrested at the scene was 23 year old Aaron Davis Meyer. He was transported to the Pettis County Jal for a felony possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

 

On January 1st, a male victim reported to Sedalia Police that a theft had occurred in the 1600 block of West 11th Street. The victim stated that he had parked his car in the area for about 3 hours and when he came back to it later, he discovered that $280.00 worth of property to be missing from his vehicle. The car was unlocked but there are no suspects at this time.

 

Around 6:05 on the evening of January 1st, officers were dispatched to Factory Connection in reference to a theft report. The caller stated that the suspect had stolen a hat valued at $24.99. The suspect was identified but unable to be located at news time.

 

Around 5:41, on the evening of January 1st, at 890 Thompson Blvd, which is The Buckle, there was a report of a white male that came into the store with a small group of people. The male allegedly took a bottle of cologne without paying for it. By the time officers arrived, the suspects had left the scene. The cologne was valued at $79.00.

 

Also around 6:52 in the evening of January 1st, in the 700 block of East Broadway, Sedalia Police arrested Alejandra Guadalupe Mendoza was arrested for a failure to appear warrant out of Pettis County for an original charge of larceny. Mendoza was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail with a bond of $2,500.00 cash or surety.

 

On January 2nd, around 2:14 in the morning, Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop in the area of the 1600 block of East Broadway. Officers were granted permission to search the vehicle. One of the passengers was found to be in possession of illegal prescription pills, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. Beck Sue Bale was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail on a 24-hour hold, pending state charges.

 

On January 1st, around 10:49 in the morning, in the 900 block of East 13ths Street, a 17 year old women was arrested for two failure to appear warrants with a total bond amount of $231.00 cash only.

 

On January 1st, in the 1400 block of East Broadway, a victim reported to police that damage had been caused to her residence. It was determined that a vehicle had jumped a curb, ran onto the sidewalk, and became disabled. A wheel had come off the vehicle, that struck and damaged the siding on the house. The driver had left the scene ad didn’t notify police.

 

On January 2nd, around 1:48 that morning, police conducted a traffic stop at 7th Street and Moniteau Avenue. Upon contact with the driver, officers noticed the odor of alcohol. A field sobriety test was given and the suspect failed. The suspect also took a breathalyzer test and failed. Arrested at the scene was 22-year old, Tasha Ann Lesmeister, for no proof of insurance and a DWI.

 

Pettis County Deputies arrested Helen M. Jones on January 2nd for an active warrant out of Marsahll.

On January 3rd, Pettis County Deputies arrested Raul Estrada-Perez in the area of Vermont and Main Street on charges of driving while revoked or suspended, no proof of insurance, not wearing a seat-belt, and failed to equip a motor vehicle with two approved red tail lamps on proper level.

On January 3rd, Pettis County Deputies arrested Aaron J. Brown of Green Ridge on a Pettis County warrant, with a bond of $1,500.00.

On January 1st, Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the area of Southwood Lane for a report of a possible suicide. The coroner’s office and Deputies conducted an investigation at the scene.
