Kids, it may not feel like it outside, but they tell me it's springtime, and if there's one thing that everyone agrees on, we should be ready for some spring fun.  Sedalia's Parks and Recreation department is more than ready and has a lot of different things for you to do.

I won't go into too much detail because you can always check out the different events either at our Community Calendar, or at the SP&R website, but here's a quick overview of some things and stuff goin' down.

One thing that parents are happy about is the Tiny Tots play park.  This is open Tuesdays and Wednesdays at the Convention Hall.  This is an indoor playground for the littlest of kids who maybe need a little energy burned off.  You pay as you go and you can also get a punch pass and save a little money on admission.  Also coming up for the little ones is a "Big Daddy and Me" date night.  Girls aged 3-12 can bring their dad (or grandpa, big brother, uncle, cousin, whoever) and enjoy a night of fun at Convention Hall including a horse and carriage ride.  You have to sign up by April 8, so be sure to get your ticket for a night to remember with your little girl.

Other events to get the kids outdoors include Tiny Tee's (the T-ball program for 3 and 4-year-olds), Tball, and tennis lessons.   Don't forget about the swimming lessons either.  The pools open up on May 25, and you can begin registering for the swim lessons on May 1.  Sign up for T-ball and Tiny Tee's by May 22.

For the adults, there's going to be a really fun Adult Softball league.  Registration for those goes from April 1 through 19 and the games start on May 6.  Registration packets have all your questions answered, and includes a roster.  You can get those at the office or at the website.  There will be a manager's meeting on May 1 at 6:00 p.m., and they'll get all the final details set there.

So why not get your kids and yourself signed up for some springtime fun with the Sedalia Parks and Rec!  It's affordable entertainment and it gets everybody out of the house, shakin' out those winter cobwebs.   Make sure you call 826-4930 or go to their website at sedaliaparks.com.

Springly yours,

Behka
