A Sedalia man uncovered a $1 million prize on a Missouri Lottery Scratchers ticket to become the 400th Missouri Lottery-made millionaire.

Gerald Abney, 65, purchased the winning “50X The Cash” Scratchers ticket at Rush Hour, 1320 S. Limit, in Sedalia. Abney opted for the cash payout, a lump sum payment of $700,000 before taxes. He said he planned to pay off his house and truck with the windfall.

“50X The Cash” is a $10 game that officially began Dec. 30, 2013. Abney claimed the first of three $1 million prizes in the game. More than $27 million in prizes remain in the game.
