Sedalia Man Treated in Columbia For Serious Injuries Following Accident

An early morning accident in Pettis County has led to serious injuries for a Sedalia man.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a 2001 Chrysler drove off US 65 at Shannon Road at 1:18 a.m., struck a culvert and overturned several times. The driver, 69-year-old Larry Viernes of Sedalia, suffered serious injuries and was taken to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment.

The vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
