Sedalia Kids Reach New Heights this Fall with Boonslick Regional Library [INTERVIEW]

If there’s one thing I think most people in our area can agree on, it’s that the kids should be learning as much as they can.  Especially when they’re really little. The mind seems to be open and more apt to learn when you’re really young.  Boonslick Regional Library knows that very well, and they’re giving the kids plenty of chances to get to their potential.

They have several great programs for the kids of all kinds of ages, and they’re all free.  Often these programs are interactive, and very interesting to young, adaptive minds.  And we’re not just talking about story times here, although those are alive and well.  They’re definitely changing with the times and keeping kids engaged in books in all sorts of different formats, covering several different genres.

I talked with Jackie Oliphant today about some of what they’ve been up to.

If you’ve got older kids, don’t forget about The Teen Read Week coming up. Teen Read Week at Boonslick Regional Library runs Oct. 15 – 19.  Teen Read Week is a national event focusing on literacy among teens. This years theme is “Seek the Unknown.” They will be having a Book Treasure hunt giving away a new young adult novel every day.  They will wrap up the week on Oct. 19 by hosting the Sedalia Ghost Hunters at 3:00 p.m. Find out more about everything Boonslick has been up to by going on the web, stopping by the Library or giving them a call. Drop by the library at 219 West Third street, visit their website or give them a call at 660-827-4668.

Learned-ily yours,
Behka
