The Pettis County Sheriff's Office has announced that it will be conducting school bus-related traffic enforcement in the next few weeks, in cooperation with First Student Transportation.

Deputies will be on board some buses while drivers are picking up students and watching for stop sign violation and summonses will be issued to violators.

Motorists are reminded that they need to stop for school buses that have their stop arms extended with flashing red lights.

Motorists on divided highways with four lanes or more need not stop when traveling in the opposite direction as the bus, it was noted.
