The Smith-Cotton Tigers hit the road Friday night to Pleasant Hill in search of their third win in a row, but the Tigers found it pretty tough going in the first half.

The Tigers, who had only 74 total yards in the first half, got down 17-0, before Blake Grupe hit a 40-yard field goal late in the first half to make it 17-3 at the break. But it was all Smith-Cotton, however, going into the second half, S-C with 24 unanswered points, the last of which was a nice 48-yard run by Brice Pannier.

The PAT kick was good, and the Tigers took their only lead of the ball game at that point, 24-17, after shutting out the Roosters in the second half.

Late in the ball game, though, a good run back by Pleasant Hill after the Pannier touchdown and a nice 52-yard pass play. And the Roosters chose to go for two and a 25-24 win for Pleasant Hill on their Homecoming.

The Tigers are now 2-2 on the season. They return to Sedalia for Homecoming next Friday night at Tiger Stadium to host Nevada. The pre-game show with Al McCurdy starts at 6:40 p.m. on 92.3 Bob-FM, with the kickoff at 7.
