The Missouri state Fair Grounds received an attraction Wednesday night just in time for the 2014 Missouri State Fair. The attraction a newly refurbished 1929 Ford Fire Truck is bound to be admired by young and old alike at its home at the Missouri State Fair Fire House, especially those of us who love vintage automobiles. In 1929 it would have been the top of the line in fire-fighting equipment, and while it won’t be called upon to perform fire-fighting duties it may inspire some young boy or girl to pursue that career, just as its companion vintage car “Auto” must inspire kids to choose a career in law enforcement. The restoration is thanks to Floyd Hatfield, and all the people of the West Central Missouri Vintage Auto Club, who brought it back to life.  For more on the arrival of the vintage fire-truck listen to the newsmaker with the President of the Central Missouri Vintage Auto Club, Floyd Hatfield.
