The uneasy relationship between players and fans continues to erode.

Check out this angry fan at Thursday's St. Louis Cardinals-Cincinnati Reds game. First baseman Matt Adams makes a play for a foul ball that a fan wound up catching. Adams appears to shove the fan, who responds with the time-tested gesture of giving the finger.

Of the incident, Adams said, "I was trying to stop myself from going into the stands. People came up to me and said I shoved him. I didn't even know. I'm not that type of guy to go after anybody."
