Strong sales have once again pushed the Powerball jackpot into unprecedented territory. For the second time in as many days, the jackpot for tonight’s drawing has been increased, with the estimated prize now set at $550 million. It’s the largest jackpot prize ever offered in the game, with a cash option worth approximately $360.2 million in one payment before taxes.

“This jackpot seems to be the gift that keeps on giving,” said May Scheve Reardon, executive director for the Missouri Lottery. “But we want to make sure all of our players play within their means. No matter how high the jackpot gets, it still takes just one ticket to win, so please play responsibly.”

Players have until 8:59 p.m. tonight to purchase Powerball tickets in Missouri.

Of the 44 lotteries that offer Powerball, Missouri is ranked second in terms of Powerball jackpot winners with 26.
