Sedalia Police and Pettis County Deputies were involved in a high speed pursuit just before 9 p.m. on Saturday.

According to a police report, an officer attempted to stop a vehicle with no license plate in the area of 6th and Hancock. The vehicle fled at a high rate of speed, then left the city limits in the area of Cedar and Griessen. A Pettis County Deputy located the vehicle, abandoned, a short time later on the Katy Trail near Griessen.

Police say they were contacted about a stolen vehicle by the vehicle's owner around 11:30 p.m. The owner said that the vehicle had been taken without permission. Police determined that the suspect was known to the owner of the vehicle. Police have not located the suspect.
