Today (Nov. 6) is Election Day, and the polls remain open in Pettis County until 7 p.m.  Pettis County Clerk Nick Lastrada said they have been running smoothly so far.

"Setting up was the only thing that took a little time, but once machines were running, all was good," Lastrada said.  "Voting has been steady and and it looks like we'll be on pace for 65-70 percent turnout in Pettis County."

Turnout has been good at each polling location that Lastrada has visited, and very few issues have been reported in regards to long lines or voter fraud.

Remember that the polls are only open until 7 p.m. If there is a line and you happen to be in line at 7 p.m., you will still be allowed to vote.

Election results will come in from the Pettis County Courthouse and from the state on the air on Newstalk 1050 KSIS and online at ksisradio.com.
