Skeletal remains found southeast of Sedalia over the weekend have been identified as that of a Caucasian male.

On Monday (Oct 29), Pettis County Coroner Robert “Skip” Smith received initial findings from the Boone County Medical Examiners Office on the human bones that had been found Saturday evening in a densely wooded area near the Eagle Brook Farm subdivision.

The Pettis County Sheriff's Department says the skeletal remains are that a Caucasian male, believed to be approximately 35 to 45 years of age.

Authorities are currently gathering information on local and area missing persons in an attempt to positively identify the man.

The sheriff says additional information will be released as it becomes available.
