Gather the children and get ready for a spooky night filled with The Haunted Hayride, presented by the Sedalia Noonday Optimist Club, on Saturday night.

According to Noonday Optimist member Jason Myers, the annual event has been going for well over 30 years. Last year there were more than 500 people showing up for the kid-friendly night. Actually it's fun for young and old!

Tickets are $5.00 for adults, $4.00 for kids 6-12, and kiddos five and under get in free. The ticket price includes the hayride, face painting, hot dogs, potato chips, drink, and candy. The location of the event is on the Missouri State Fairgrounds, just west of the grandstand. The event runs from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m..

So take a break from the pumpkin carving, give the kid's costumes a trial run, and enjoy an evening under the stars. Hot chocolate and caramel apples will also be available.

Tickets are available at Vincent's Footwear and Apparel, Preuittt Insurance Services, Inc., Ashlee Paxton with ReMax, and John Schwenk at Sumner Insurance.
