The 32nd Christmas ornament in the Sedalia Commemorative Ornament Series is now available at the Katy Depot. According to a press release, the festive ornament pays tribute to the classic Wheel Inn Drive-In with a hand-drawn rendering of the drive-in by local artist, Myrna Ragar. The reverse side sports a picture of the dapper 'Guber.'

The Wheel-Inn, which was once located at the 50 & 65 intersection, opened in 1947 and became famous for the Guberburger featuring a peanut butter-topped hamburger. In 2007 the building was demolished to make way for highway improvements. In 2013, it finally closed for good at its second location on South Limit.  This year we pay tribute to this classic Sedalia icon.

These limited edition ornaments are $15.00 -- get them while they last. The proceeds from sales benefit the historic Katy Depot, operated by the Sedalia Heritage Foundation.  The Depot Store is located at 600 East Third Street and is open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
