The National Weather Service and Warrensburg/Johnson County Emergency Management and Sedalia/Pettis County Emergency Management Agency tracked a tornado that landed yesterday (May 20).

Acocrding to the National Weather Service, the tornado that touched down tracked from about two miles east of Knob Noster, Mo. to a few miles north of Hughesville, Mo. The tornado was 200-yards wide and tracked for 14.5 miles. The tornado was said to be traveling at 95 miles per hour and was labeled as an EF-1.

In addition to the tornado, there were straight line winds that traveled between 60-70 miles per hour with this storm, causing further damage.

The Johnson County EMA reported that there were 50-58 homes that were said to have minor damage and two that suffered major damage. In addition there were trees that were said to be uprooted, signs knocked down and some power lines effected. There were no injuries reported with the storm.
