Julie Taylor, a United States Postal Service letter carrier with the Sedalia Post Office, and Darren White, the coordinator of the local food drive and The Food Bank for Central and Northeast Missouri, stopped by the studios to talk about the upcoming National Association of Letter Carriers annual food drive Saturday.

The blue plastic tote bags have been dropped off the last two days. Residents and businesses are asked to place nonperishable food items in the bag and leave it by their mailboxes early Saturday morning. For those wishing to leave a monetary donation, a donation envelope was also included.

Last year, in Sedalia, a little over 15,000 pounds of food was donated, and over $3,000 in cash donations were collected. Cash donations go to The Food Bank for Central and Northeast Missouri in Columbia, while food donations are given to Open Door Service Center in Sedalia.
