The fair is over, the weather is great, and the kids are back in school.  With a record drought going on, food plots are looking terrible, the creeks are low and the lakes are drooping.  However, you can still catch crappie and some nice cats too.  Plus, the deer are still looking great.  It's also looking like there's going to be a lot of turkey this year too.

Make sure you get those trail cam pics together for our Trail Cam Photo Contest.  Send us you best trail cam photo from this year for your chance to win some great prizes.  Our listeners will vote on their favorite photos to determine the winners.  It must be a photo from 2012, so make sure the cam time and date are set on your photos.  We'll begin accepting submissions at kxkx.com and ksisradio.com starting September 3 and ending October 31.  Voting will begin on November 1 and end on November 18.

On September 22, MO Kids Outdoors and Fishing With a Vet will be teaming up to have a field day in Clover Dell Park on September 22.  We'll have fishing, archery with State Fair and Rusty Toad Archery, and lunch provided by the American Legion.  Bring your bow to make sure it's tuned up for hunting season, get some tips from the pros and let the archery staff show the beginners how to shoot.  It's going to be great!

Last but not least, we have our DQ Question of the Week.  This week's question: What is the Missouri state record for a Black Bass, and what lake was it caught in?

The winner gets a chicken strip basket and Huntin' and Fishin' with Harry Koozies too.  Keep listening for more info to come, including information on our annual Big Buck contest.  This year, all the proceeds will benefit Mo Kids Outdoors and 'Remember to Dream' a program that provides therapeutic horse riding for children and adults with disabilities.
