Miranda Lambert, who has been in the spotlight of late for her controversial relationship with Turnpike Troubadours singer Evan Felker, has confirmed that she is "happily single."

In May, rumors began swirling about Lambert's involvement with Felker, whose band was opening up for her on tour. Sources revealed the two had been dating since February — while the married Felker was still legally with his wife.

Felker's wife, Staci, solidified the gossip, stating that he blindsided her by filing for divorce that month, and for the last several months has provided a variety of commentary on social media describing the drama behind their unexpected split.

Although neither Lambert nor Felker directly addressed the rumors, photos of them holding hands surfaced in July.

However, it appears the relationship has ended. Lambert tells the Tennessean in an interview published Friday (Aug. 24) that she is single, adding: "Love is a hard road sometimes and it’s been a roller-coaster ride for me, but I’m definitely thankful for all the ups and downs because I’ve had some really good songs come out of it."

"You’ve got to take the bad parts and put them on paper and then move on to the happy parts," she says.

Adding credence to the report, Felker's band — who were opening up for 10 of Lambert's dates on her Bandwagon Tour with Little Big Town — have abruptly canceled their final two dates. Their publicist cited "serious family emergencies" as the reason, noting that the Oklahoma-based band "needs to be close to home."

The news of Lambert's single status comes on the heels of an Aug. 18 report that Felker has finalized his divorce, and that his ex Staci feels "free and relieved" now that the situation has been resolved.

Lambert is poised to release a new album with her trio the Pistol Annies this fall, which she says will have very raw and honest songwriting. "I think it's the best writing we’ve ever done," she shares. "We’ve lived a lot of life since our last record. I think it’s three girls telling our story very bravely."
