Mid-Missouri Outlaws to Face the Omaha Beef On the Road This Sunday

Mid-Missouri Outlaws

The Mid-Missouri Outlaws are in the midst of the most grueling portion of their schedule, taking on the top three teams three weeks in a row. Last week they lost to the CPIFL League leaders, the Wichita Wild, 82-9. Now they’re ready to head north on the road for two games. The Outlaws will play the Omaha Beef (5-1) on Sunday (April 5) at 3 p.m and then the Sioux City Bandits (4-2) on Saturday, May 11 at 7:05 p.m.

The Outlaws last week played three quarterbacks last weekend after Kyle Christian was injured in the game against the Kansas City Renegades. Coach Steve Pallo made the decision to start Damien Dunning last week, then Christian, before bringing in Ken Davis. Davis was able to get the Outlaws only touchdown last week and has proved to be a good backup and emergency quarterback. Coach Pallo will have a tough decision to make for this week, and he had not announced the starter for this game as of his last practice on Wednesday night.

Pallo also received more bad news as two of his leading defensive backs, Colton Miller and Jajwan Shields, were injured in the game last week. They will not be playing against the Beef this weekend, and it looks like Miller will be out the rest of the season.

The Outlaws will have their hands full since the Beef rank 3rd in total offense in the CPIFL with 222 yards per game and their defense also ranks 3rd in total defense, allowing 184 yards per game. The Outlaws will have to contain quarterback James McNear who has thrown for 172.8 yards per game and has rushed for 155 yards on his own.

Of course, that may not matter as the Omaha Beef made an offer to Tim Tebow.  It’s doubtful that will come to be this week, but the Beef did get a lot of publicity across the country for it. Coach Pallo said they will just prepare for the Beef based on the roster given this week, but he said the team had heard about the Tebow offer and felt they would be prepared for whoever was quarterback.

Don’t forget you can still vote for who you think will win the CPIFL Championship in our poll.

If you can’t make the trip to Omaha, 92.3 BOB-FM will have the play-by-play with a 2:45 pregame show and 3 p.m. kickoff this Sunday.
