Meghan Linsey tackled a country classic during The Voice semi-finals Monday night (May 11), performing the George Jones song "Tennessee Whiskey."

The former Steel Magnolia singer has turned in a long string of impressive performances this season, demonstrating her range and versatility after a strong audition that got three of the four judges to turn their chairs for her. She chose Pharrell Williams as her coach, but was later stolen by Blake Shelton after being eliminated in the Battle Rounds. Ironically, Shelton was the only judge who did not initially turn his chair for Linsey, who is now the last remaining singer on Team Blake.

She once again delivered under pressure this week, turning in a performance that her coach raved about. “I can’t even contain myself right now because I know what just happened. That was so special,” Shelton said. “You just engaged all the country music fans out there across the country, and you’ve already engaged all the new fans you’ve made through your journey so far. That is by far your most important performance on this show so far.”

The performance also impressed George Jones' daughter, who tweeted her appreciation:

Linsey returned to the stage to perform Sam Smith's "I'm Not the Only One." Both performances are available on iTunes. The next elimination round of The Voice airs Tuesday night (May 12) at 8PM ET on NBC, determining which singers make it to the Season 8 finale.
