George Strait is known for timeless country music, and his always-present black cowboy hat. At his final Cowboy Rides Away Tour stop, the singer tossed his hat into the audience, and one lucky man caught it -- and he plans on keeping it.

The hat toss happened after he played his final song 'The Cowboy Rides Away' and then thanked his guests and fans for a few minutes. Then, he popped off his hat, and tossed it. Dallas Stars hockey player Vernon Fiddler caught it, and since he's been getting some great offers for the lid.

Fiddler tells CMT, "People were swarming around me to touch it and get their picture with it. A guy offered me his Rolex for it. And I've had other calls from people who want to buy it, and from the Country Music Hall of Fame that wants to display it."

"But I don't want to let it go. Then again, I don't want it collecting dust either. I think it'll be cool to tell the story to grandkids someday."

Catching Strait's hat at his final show -- now that is a good story, and one that any country loving fan would love to tell. Not only was it the King of Country's last tour stop -- it also broke the record for indoor concert attendance in America. Fiddler was sitting in the sixth row, and Strait was standing right in front of him, giving him a prime opportunity to be the lucky hat catcher.

If fans are worried that it was Strait's one and only concert hat, no worries. He was handed another identical hat when he walked offstage, on his way to the dressing area.
