The Pettis County Sheriff's Office is searching for an inmate who escaped from the Pettis County Jail shortly before 10pm Thursday, July 24th.

Jail staff discovered 29-year-old

missing from the jail around 10pm. He is believed to have fled southbound on foot, wearing black gym shorts and a white t-shirt.

McGee is described as a slender white male, 5'9" 130 lbs with brown eyes, sandy brown hair, and a goatee. See attached photo of McGee.

While recent residences are in the Sedalia and Pettis County areas, he is known to frequent Morgan and Benton Counties to the south. McGee was being held on Pettis County charges of fraudulent use of credit devices.
