The Loyal Rebekah Lodge #260 is an international service-oriented organization and a branch of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. It was initially designed as the female auxiliary of the IOOF, but now allows both female and male members. The general duties of the members of this unit are, “To live peaceably, do good unto all, as we have opportunity and especially to obey the Golden Rule, Whatsoever ye would that others should do unto you, do ye even so unto them.” They're having a great event this week that definitely should not be missed.

They're having a Chili/Vegetable Soup supper on Friday, Nov. 22. It'll be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. They'll have chili or soup with a dessert and drink. It'll be at 901 East 9th street and will only cost $5. Kids under five eat for free. For the pickier kid eaters, hot dogs will also be available. They'll have homemade pies, cookies, cakes and all sorts of goodies. Plus, they'll have carry outs for those of you who can't stick around.

You know with this cooler weather that you need something that hits that comfort food spot, and what could be better than a warm soup or chili dinner? Doing it all for a great cause can only sweeten the chili pot, in my opinion. If you want to become an active participant in your community, broaden your mind and help children, the elderly and the less fortunate, then the Loyal Rebekahs are for you. And even if you just want some tasty food, you can't beat it!

Loyally yours,
Behka
