Lots of Outdoor Events Coming in September

The weather is great and the archers are all getting ready for bow season.  I'm stoked, I've been seeing a lot of good bucks and great does.  As a member of PETA... that's People Eating Tasty Animals, I like to fill my freezer with the does.  They're tasty and really healthy for you.

Speaking of deer, our Trail Cam Contest kicks off on Labor Day, September 3.  Come back and check out the website for more details.  You'll have the chance to win great prizes from Al's Ag Supply and Stone Laser Imaging.

There are a lot of great events coming up.  Here's where we'll be enjoying the great outdoors:

• The 5th Annual Jake Helmig Memorial ATV Ride will be held on September 8.  There will be a trail ride, youth ATV rodeo and auction, so get signed up for a day of fun in the sun and find more information at jakehelmigmemorialride.com.

• September 9 marks the last 3D shoot of the year from State Fair Archery.  They'll be kicking off an indoor league, a spot league held on Tuesdays at 7:00 and my personal favorite, a hunter league on Thursdays at 7:00.

• On September 22, join MO Kids OUtdoors and Fishing with a Vet at Clover Dell Park for our Field Day.  We'll have fishing with Al Cox from Eagle Claw, tons of prizes to give away, archery with State Fair and Rusty Toad Archery, tips from the Pro Staff Shooters and lunch from the American Legion.  Come catch some fish and meet some of the great men and women who protected this fine country of ours.

• I'm looking for six guides with land to take Wounded Warriors out during deer season.  I've been contacted to help make this happen, so help make this happen and give some time back to those who gave for us.  If you can help, call me at 660-596-8545.
