Last Saturday (Sept. 30), Kevin Walker and I had the opportunity to judge the contests at the 2nd Annual Bark in the Park event at Liberty Park in Sedalia. There were a ton of great dogs there and we had a great time meeting them all!

It was raining pretty hard, but it wasn't a problem at all since the event was moved into the convention hall. The rain didn't deter attendance at all either; there were over 20 great looking dogs with their owners in attendance for all the fun. Mayor Horn proclaimed the day to officially be Responsible Dog Owners Day in Sedalia, and the competition got under way!

Kevin and I got to judge three fun competitions: Best Costume, Best Bark and Best Trick, as well as overall Best in Show. The costume contest was great, and it was really hard to pick just three winners. Our hands down favorite though was the dog dressed as Uncle Si from Duck Dynasty, complete with beard, glasses, and tea cup.

The dogs were so well behaved that it was hard to get them to bark, but we were able to get three winners eventually. Finally, best trick was a ton of fun. We got to see dogs dance, give hugs, high fives, and sit, stay and come when called.

I think everyone had a great time, and I know Kevin and I definitely did. Check out all the amazing pictures from Kevin Walker Photography below!
