KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Central Missouri senior running back LaVance Taylor was named the MIAA Offensive Player of the Week after his performance in UCM's 50-31 win over No. 19 Emporia State last Thursday.

The senior from Raytown, Mo. broke four single-game school records and tied a career record in the win. He rushed for a UCM record 288 yards on 23 carries and scored four rushing touchdowns. He also had a receiving touchdown and a 97-yard kickoff return for a touchdown, giving him a school-record six for the game. His 36 points scored were also a new school record. He racked up 396 all-purpose yards to set a new record and his kickoff return for a score was the third of his career, tying the mark set by Walter Rhone and Delanie Walker.

Taylor moved into third place on Central Missouri's all-time all-purpose yards list with 4,211. He is now fifth in career rushing yards (2,430) and fifth in career touchdowns scored (33).
