The Lake Creek Camp meeting has been meeting since the 1800's outside of Smithton.  It brings a rich history to their new events coming up for this year's meeting in the idyllic countryside of the valley. The Camp Meeting is a get together for all types of congregations.  They'll start the festivities on June 27 and run through August 3. They are very inclusive and want all sorts of people to attend and enjoy themselves.  They have nightly meetings and speakers, along with musical performances, and a bible school for the little ones during the day. You can look at several of the cabins that have been around since the early days of the meeting, and really connect with the history of our area from hundreds of years ago. If you'd like to stay the night, they also have newer cabins to accommodate you. There will be eight nights of preaching and music under a tent. This is the 168th year for Camp Meeting. I got to talk with Kathy Page, one of the representatives from the Lake Creek Methodist Church, who are hosting the event, about some of the details.
