Lady Antebellum Say Hello to ‘The Voice’ Viewers With ‘Goodbye Town’

Lady Antebellum have unveiled their second single, ‘Goodbye Town,’ from their chart-topping new record ‘Golden,’ and along with their new music video, have been busy promoting the heartbreaking song. On Tuesday (May 14), the trio appeared on ‘The Voice,’ where trio member Hillary Scott is a mentor, and gave a few of the contestants a chance to showcase their own powerhouse vocals.

Lady A was joined by Team Adam’s Judith Hill, Amber Carrington and Sarah Simmons to sing the song. The three contestants provided the chorus of “oh-oh-oh’s” that back up the vocals of Charles Kelley and Scott. For the majority of the song, Kelley had the lead, and he hit every note with emotional depth, as the mama-to-be and Dave Haywood blended effortlessly in the ease the trio is known for.

Although the show’s contestants were off on the sidelines for over half of the song, they each had their chance to shine, as they joined Lady A on the main stage and split the bridge into three parts. Carrington and Simmons’ voices sounded truly country, as the beautiful Hill’s strong, gritty voice was a cool addition.

When the group finished with the catchy “oh-oh-oh’s” once again, everyone broke out into dance, with Scott adding a few fist pumps to finish off the anthemic ending. It was a ‘golden’ night for the trio, as well as Team Adam, as all of his contestants were able to stay in the competition.

Lady A will continue promoting their new album and single, with their last stop at the 2013 Taste of Country Music Festival before Scott’s bundle of joy arrives later this summer.
