Townsquare Media's annual Radiothon for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital raised well over $1.5 million for the kids at St. Jude in 2017. KIX 105 participated in the Radiothon March 9-10, and donations came in from all across west-central Missouri.

At last count, the total amount raised had been announced at $1,554,815. In the last hour of the Radiothon, computer delays due to a large number of calls to the St. Jude Call Center made reporting difficult. An official grand total will not be available until next week, but according to St. Jude, it appears that the amount raised will surpass $1.7 million.

Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent to more than 80 percent since the hospital opened in 1962. St. Jude is working to drive the overall survival rate for childhood cancer to 90 percent, and they won't stop until no child dies from cancer.

St. Jude freely shares discoveries, so every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists can use that knowledge to save thousands more children worldwide, including right here in west-central Missouri.

Doctors often send their toughest cases to St. Jude, because they have the world's best survival rates for some of the most aggressive childhood cancers.

Please join KIX 105, country music superstars, and all of the millions of St. Jude supporters around the world, in helping this amazing place by becoming a Partner in Hope. Just $20 per month on your credit card will make a huge difference in St. Jude's fight against childhood cancer. We will send you a free t-shirt for your gift, but more importantly, you'll be helping the patients at St. Jude, and cancer patients worldwide by supporting St. Jude's life-saving work. If you have been a Partner in Hope in the past, we thank you, and if you have not yet made the decision to become a Partner in Hope, please listen carefully during the Radiothon to learn more about this amazing hospital and its mission.
