Always one to use her singing talents for the greater good, Kelly Clarkson stopped by Monroe Carrell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt on Dec. 21 to spread some holiday cheer. Clarkson sang a few songs and celebrated the season with patients and staff at the hospital in her hometown of Nashville.

Although Clarkson just released her 'Greatest Hits -- Chapter One' album, she wasn't performing any of her old hit songs for her fans at the children's hospital. Instead, the first-ever 'Idol' winner helped bring the Christmas spirit by playing an acoustic guitar and providing a singalong of her favorite Christmas songs. 'Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer,' 'White Christmas,' and 'All I Want for Christmas is You' were all on the list, which was surely a delight to the children in need.

In addition to encouraging the little ones to sing, the pop-country crossover star told them to feel free to dance around. After she sang several songs, Clarkson took the time to visit the rooms of children who were too sick to attend the party.

"This is such a special time of year and I'm so happy to be able to share it with all of these great kids. I'm probably having just as much, if not more, fun than they are," Clarkson said in a statement. "I heard about Musicians On Call from a friend of mine," she continued, "and I thought this would be the perfect way to get involved with a hospital music program here in Nashville. I love playing for the kiddos!!"

Musicians on Call is a program that facilitates major entertainers to perform in hospitals. The Nashville branch has worked with country stars like Brantley Gilbert, Hunter Hayes, Martina McBride, Jerrod Niemann, Kellie Pickler, Darius Rucker, Blake Shelton and more to bring cheer to hospital wards in Music City.
