As winter is winding down and warm weather is approaching, KCP&L wants to remind the public that the Missouri Public Service Commission and Kansas Corporation Commission state-wide utility Cold Weather Rules are coming to an end for 2016. KCP&L wants to encourage eligible customers who are behind on their bills to contact them by March 31, so they can help them establish a payment plan.
KCP&L has various programs and services that will help customers who have fallen behind on their bills and are at risk of being disconnected. Those interested in payment options should visit www.kcpl.com/financialassist for information on assistance programs available in each state.

If you would like to help a friend or family member in need, you should consider an Energy Gift. This gift lets anyone make a payment toward a KCP&L customer’s bill.
Another option for helping those in need is to make a one-time or monthly contribution to KCP&L’s Dollar-Aide Program. This program has helped thousands of families pay their heating, cooling and water bills during financially pressing times. And KCP&L matches 50 cents for every dollar contributed.
