Americana artist Jason Isbell has released four studio albums, spent time in the Drive-By Truckers and peppered the country with sold-out tour stops over the last decade. The veteran may finally be getting his big break however, as ‘The Voice’ just emailed, hoping he’d audition.

Of course the words “big break” are used tongue-in-cheek. Isbell’s most recent album ‘Southeastern’ helped him clean up at the 2014 Americana Music Awards in September. One would think his lengthy resume would preclude him from the audition process -- it’d be like if Jake Owen was invited to the stage.

“My audition on 'The Voice' will be a solo vocal and French horn rendition of 'Oh Comely' by Neutral Milk Hotel. I will wear a #bikini,” Isbell tweeted after tweeting a picture of the email he received.

Like 'Fight Club,' rule No. 1 about 'The Voice' auditions is not to talk about 'The Voice' auditions, so it seems unlikely fans will find Isbell in front of Blake Shelton and company anytime soon.
